Snatra Puja

On July 15th, JOY preformed the Snatra Puja, this time in Lansing,

We took 55 senior citizens, to enjoy with us. Everybody had a blast!!!

Garba

At the end of May, JOY had its annual garba! It was fabulous!

We had a great turnout and people had fun dancing, eating,

and making new friends! Overall it was a blast and we hope

to see all of you there next year! Garba Pictures!

Community Service

On February 18th, JOY went to World Medical Relief in downtown

Detroit. It was a great experience, and everyone had a good time.

World Medical Relief was founded in 1953; it is an organization

that sends medical equipment, supplies, and medicine to third

world countries. They run mission trips as well. For more information

visit www.worldmedicalrelief.com. Afterwards we all went to Buddy's

Pizza for lunch. We would like to thank Chetan Uncle and Smeeta

Auntie for lunch. We would also like to thank Vishwas Shah for driving.

Winter Camp

"Look! You can see the Beach!"

    "Check out that pool table!"

"Wow this is definitely the best winter camp EVER!"

Just a few of the many positive comments during our Winter

Camp, held from January 27-29 in a Beach House on the

shores of Lake Michigan. Now you might be wondering, Beach

House in January? You will not believe the fun we had! The 3

hour drive was most certainly worth it. A special thanks

to Bipin Uncle and Shonie Auntie, Jagdish Uncle and Gita

Auntie, and to Milap Uncle and Parul Auntie for donating their

cars to us for the weekend. The weather turned out fabulously

perfect for hours of football on the beach along the sandy coast.

The 15 kids that attended were split into 3 groups, each in charge

of making a delicious  meal for the rest of us- turns out, some

of us have a hidden talent in the kitchen! (Others not so much).

We played dozens of hilarious team-building games to really

make sure we were comfortable with one-another, sometimes

too comfortable! You'd never guess the tactics needed to make

someone laugh! By far, the most exciting night was Saturday,

with a pool tournament and a wacky game of hide-and-seek/capture

the flag. The house was literally ransacked, and everything was

turned upside down! Who knew the best hiding places are behind

a picture frame and inside an attic? Good thing we stayed up

all night cleaning it up! All in all, we came out with a few new

friends, and a great-spent weekend! JOY sends our sincere thanks

to everyone who came and made the event extra special! We

hope to see you all again for next year's camp! Winter Camp Pictures!
